Ar. Suvidha Shinde

An academician and practicing architect, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (2009) and a Master’s degree in Environmental Architecture (2011). Her 12 years of academic journey and 15 years of professional practice have been driven by a strong interest in climate responsive architecture, sustainability, user-oriented design and contextual built environments. Along with academics, she has gained professional experience through her association with various architectural firms, contributing to residential, commercial, institutional and interior design projects at different scales. This practical exposure has enriched her teaching methodology by bridging theoretical understanding with architectural practice and execution processes. She is also associated with independent professional practice through VASStukriti Architects and contractors, where she has been involved in architectural design, planning and interior projects. As an educator, she believes in integrating academic learning with practical understanding, encouraging students to explore architecture through environmental sensitivity, urban awareness, technical knowledge and design innovation. Her areas of interest include sustainable architecture, urban microclimate studies, public spaces, passive design strategies and environmental simulations in architecture. She believes in Frank Gehry’s saying, “Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness.”
