Budget 2024 Expectations Highlights: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will announce the Union Budget 2024 on July 23. Laying a roadmap for the next five years, this will be the first Budget for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government after it secured a third consecutive term in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Earlier on February 1, Sitharaman tabled an Interim Budget due to the general elections. The Budget will be preceded by the Eco Survey on July 22.
According to Vinayak Chatterjee, Founder and Managing Trustee of Infravision Foundation, the government will have to increase infrastructure allocation by at least 30% over last year to ₹13 lakh crore to support employment and achieve a 7.5-8% GDP growth rate.
