Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Architecture (VESCOA) has announced the appointment of Samir Shaikh, an urban design expert, as the Head of the Department M.Arch. (Urban Design) Programme. With 25 years of experience in architecture and urban design, Samir brings a wealth of global expertise to this key role, advancing VESCOA’s mission to provide cutting-edge education in architecture and urban design.

Samir’s career spans several countries and a variety of sectors, including residential, healthcare, education, retail, IT buildings, transportation, and mixed-use master planning. He has collaborated with leading firms such as TATA Realty & Infrastructure, Nelson Planning & Design, EHDD, and BDP developing a robust foundation in both design and technical leadership. Samir has also held senior leadership roles, successfully managing teams of over 100 architects and designers on high-value, multi-crore projects.

He is an IGBC accredited professional and an active member of organisations such as the Indian Institute of Architects, the American Institute of Architects, and the Institute of Urban Design India. A respected speaker at global academic and industry conferences, Samir shares his expertise on urban design and architectural innovation, influencing discussions and advancing the field.
